Powers Boothe (born June 1, 1948; age 68) played Vice President Noah Daniels during Season 6 and 24: Redemption.

Biography and career Edit

Powers Boothe was born in Snyder, Texas in a ranching family. He attended Texas State University (then Southwest Texas State College) in San Marcos as an undergraduate, where he joined Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and received his Master of Fine Arts from Southern Methodist University in Dallas in 1972. After college, Boothe began a career acting in theater, debuting in Broadway in the late 70's.

Boothe is well known for his roles in Westerns, notably Deadwood and Tombstone (with Tomas Arana). He also appeared in the films Red Dawn, Rapid Fire (with Tzi Ma and Al Leong), Sudden Death (with Michael Gaston and Manny Perry), Nixon, U-Turn (with Jon Voight and Brent Briscoe) and Frailty.

Although he has focused his career in feature films, Boothe has guest-starred in various TV shows. Some of the ones where he has appeared are the ABC musical drama series Nashville (with Connie Britton), and the title role in Philip Marlowe, Private Eye. He is also the fifth 24 actor to guest star on Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, the others were Nicholas Guest, Greg Ellis, Peter MacNicol and Xander Berkeley.

Boothe was the only actor nominated to show up at the 1980 Emmy Awards, as the Screen Actors Guild was on strike that year. He won the award that year. He had an uncredited role as a Bolivian bandito in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969).

In 2012, Boothe starred as the primary member of the World Security Council in the live-action adaptation of Marvel comics' The Avengers.
