Ralph Burton was the private investigator hired by Kate Warner to look into Reza Naiyeer.

Investigating Reza for Kate, Burton discovered a link between Reza and a terrorist, and reported it to Homeland Security and CTU. He stayed in touch with Kate but left early during the day, which ended up saving his life. A fellow investigator, Paul Koplin, took over for Burton, but was captured, tortured, and killed by Second Wave terrorists.
