In order to buy himself time to acquire blackmail information, Jack Bauer shot George Mason in the leg with a tranquilizer gun and laid his unconscious body on the sofa in his office.

Bridgit used a homing device to locate Martin Belkin’s ID, which Mandy buried in the Mojave Desert.

After cutting off an assassin's thumb, Jack used an optical scanner in his car to send the thumbprint to CTU for identification.

Jack gave an encrypted key card with information related to the assassination attempt on Senator David Palmer to Jamey Farrell to decrypt and analyze.

As Jack and Greg Penticoff headed back towards the pay phone at 18166 San Fernando Road, Jack called Nina at CTU and asked her to set up a phone tap to trace the call and record the conversation. The phone tap was useless, however, because a cellular phone had been hidden in the phone booth.

After Ira Gaines directed Jack to a car in the hospital parking lot, he told Jack to put a microtransmitter phone in his ear and drop his cellular phone out of the car window. Once the device was securely in Jack's ear, Gaines could hear everything that Jack said and could communicate directly with Jack.

When Nina confronted Jack about switching the key card that Milo was analyzing, Ira Gaines told Jack to get Nina out of the building. Knowing that he was being watched on the CTU surveillance cameras, Jack pointed a gun at Nina and handed her a jacket. He escorted her to a car and drove to an industrial park, where he shot her twice in the chest. Nina fell down an embankment, but survived the shooting, because the jacket that Jack gave her was actually a flak jacket.

Jamey Farrell used a wireless handheld device to communicate secretly with Ira Gaines. To contact Gaines, Jamey hid in a stall in the women's restroom at CTU Los Angeles and corresponded with him only through text messaging.

After Jack appeared to be a threat to Senator David Palmer during the breakfast at the San Clarita power plant,he was apprehended by the Secret Service. Another team of Secret Service agents escorted Senator and Mrs. Palmer out of the power plant and to their motorcade.

After swiping Eli's cell phone, Teri Bauer placed a call to CTU Los Angeles for help. Eli and Rick walked into the room where Teri and Kim were being held to look for the phone, so Teri hid the phone in the rafters. Milo attempted to trace Teri's location using the call, but Eli found the phone before Milo could confirm the exact location.

While Jack was driving Ted Cofell to a pre-arranged meeting with a man named Kevin Carroll, Cofell pulled out a hidden Microtech H.A.L.O. II knife. When they arrived at a parking garage, Jack got in the backseat to wait with Cofell, who drew the knife and lunged at Jack. Jack wrestled the knife away, and Cofell cursed at him in Serbian.

Jack asked Nina to use GPS to get satellite photos of Gaines' compound and download them to his handheld device so that he would know the layout of the compound before infiltrating the area to save his family.

When Tony and Nina questioned Jamey Farrell's mother, Erica Vasquez, about the large sums of money in her bank account, Mrs. Vasquez claimed that she didn't know where the money came from. Upon further investigation, they discovered that the funds had been transferred from a holding company based in Belgrade. Nina remembered that Jack suspected a possible connection to Belgrade based on a previous assignment.

After she and Kim were taken to a medical clinic for an thorough examination, Teri Bauer spoke to Dr. Kent about the sharp pain in her abdomen, and Dr. Kent conducted an ultrasound. Before Teri, Kim, and Nina left for the safehouse, Dr. Kent told Teri that her ultrasound showed the remnants of a small follicular cyst that had burst. She also gave Teri a home pregnancy test.

While searching for information relevant to the attempted assassination of Senator Palmer, Robert Ellis hacked into a file on the MI5 server and sent it to Milo Pressman, who printed it out and gave copies to Senator Palmer and Jack. The file contained two Operation Nightfall casualties that Jack and Senator Palmer had not previously been aware of - Victor Drazen's wife and daughter.

Keith Palmer met with Carl Webb at the Griffith Park Observatory to discuss the murder of Dr. George Ferragamo. Keith secretly taped the conversation, and Senator Palmer later handed the tape over to the authorities.

CTU used fiber optics for surveillance when a member of Senator Palmer's advance team, Elizabeth Nash, agreed to plant a tracking device on Alexis Drazen. CTU agents rigged Room 1242 of the Senator's hotel with fiber optics and set up viewing monitors in the room across the hall.

Teri Bauer suffered from dissociate amnesia after watching her car roll down a hillside and explode, because she believed Kim to be inside the car at the time. Teri ended up at a restaurant and spoke with Dr. Phil Parslow, who claimed he knew her. Despite Dr. Parslow asking several questions and informing Teri about personal details of her life, Teri could not remember details about what had happened to her or who she was.

Jack discovered that Alan Morgan, the man he met when posing as Alexis Drazen, had been paid to turn off a section of the power grid that affected an area in Saugus. After driving to the area with George Mason, Jack discovered that the location was a wildlife preserve.

Jack Bauer discovered an underground detention facility in Saugus and found out that a high security prisoner was being transferred to the facility at the same time that the power had been scheduled to be turned off. Jack learned that the prisoner was Victor Drazen, and he worked with the guards at the facility to prevent an ambush by Andre Drazen.

The events of Day 1 took place on Super Tuesday in an unspecified year.

As Mason and Palmer are discussing the trade involving Jack, Mason reminds Palmer that CTU doesn't fall under Senate purview, but Palmer replies that it falls under Presidential purview and that he, Palmer, will have that office in nine months, and will compensate Mason if he goes through with the trade.

The Drazens hold Kim hostage at Dock 11-A at the Port.

Jack spoke with an officer from the Coast Guard about identifying and claiming Kim's body, which Nina had told him was pulled out of the harbor earlier in the evening. The officer told Jack that no body was found within that 50 mile range on the coast.

NSA advisor Eric Rayburn arranged a conference with the Joint Chiefs against President David Palmer's orders.

Investigative journalist Ron Wieland began to dig up information of the nuclear threat in response to a rise in the alert condition.

George Mason was exposed to plutonium and told that he would get sicker and die from radiation poisoning within a day. Although he took pills, he continued to exhibit the symptoms until his death.

Kim Bauer attempted to report the abuse of her au pair Megan Matheson by her father Gary to the police.

During the prison riot Jack started while trying to escape with Ramon, they both were captured and forced to play Russian Roulette. Jack escaped with Ramon by shooting the prisoner that started it, once Chase had caused a distraction.

When CTU believed that Richard Heller was holding back information, they subjected him to SDT. When Secretary Heller was found, it was stopped, but Heller authorized the continuation of it when he learned that Richard was holding back information.

Maya Driscoll was allergic to Haldol. The allergy was noted in her file, but the CTU medical staff gave it to her after looking at the wrong file. Maya nearly died, but her mother, Erin Driscoll, caught the mistake in time.
