Richard Burgi

Richard Burgi played Kevin Carroll during Day 1 on 24. He was originally up for the role of Jack Bauer before Kiefer Sutherland got the role, but Joel Surnow still wanted him to take a part in the show.

Burgi has been working steadily in the industry since the latter half of the 1980s, when he landed his first full-time role on NBC's Another World, playing Chad Rollo. Since then he has appeared on countless television shows, including As the World Turns (playing Glenn Harrington from December 1988 to April 1989), Firefly, Point Pleasant, CSI, The District, Matlock, Providence, Judging Amy, The Sentinel (in the lead role), Just Shoot Me and Seinfeld.

His multiple film roles include In Her Shoes, opposite Cameron Diaz and Toni Collette, Fun with Dick and Jane, opposite Jim Carrey, Cellular, opposite Kim Basinger, and Shanghai Red, opposite Vivian Wu.

Burgi is currently a regular on the second season of ABC's Desperate Housewives, once again playing Karl Mayer, Susan Mayer's cad of an ex-husband.

Burgi is married to Lori Kahn and has two sons, Jack and Samuel.
