Biography and career
Robert Beckel was born in New York City, but grew up in Lyme, Connecticut. He graduated from Wagner College in Staten Island. During his time in college, Beckel played football and also worked for Robert F. Kennedy's presidential campaign in 1968.
From 1971 to 1972, Beckel served in the Philippines as a Peace Corps volunteer. He also worked as a graduate school professor of politics at the George Washington University. He has also worked in several political and administrative positions, as well as forming his own consulting firm: Bob Beckel & Associates, later called Beckel–Cowan.
Beckel has served as a political analyst and commentator for several years, appearing in shows like The Five, Hannity, and The O'Reilly Factor, among others.
