Ron Pitts (born October 14, 1962; age 61) played a reporter during Season 7 of 24.

Biography and career

Ron Pitts was born in Detroit, Michigan, but moved to Orchard Park, New York as a teenager. He attended Orchard Park High School, and then went to the University of California, Los Angeles, where he played college football for the UCLA Bruins.

After college, Pitts was drafted in the 7th round of the 1985 NFL Draft. He played for the Buffalo Bills and the Green Bay Packers from 1985 to 1990. After his brief professional career, Pitts turned to sportscasting working for FOX Sports for 18 years. In 2014, he joined CBS Sports Network.

Pitts began his professional acting career appearing in Hot Shots: Part Deux. After that, he has appeared in films like The Birdcage, Independence Day (with Leland Orser and Bill Smitrovich), The Fan (with Chris Mulkey), Two for the Money (with Kevin Chapman and Carly Pope), and The Fanatics (with Gregory Sporleder). He usually plays the role of a reporter or a newscaster.
