The Santa Clarita Power Plant was located at 417 Ridgeway Road in Santa Clarita.

Senator David Palmer held a breakfast rally at the power plant on the morning of Day 1. The top labor leaders in the country were in attendance. Palmer's agenda included coming out with the truth about his son Keith's involvment in the accidental death of Lyle Gibson. The assassin Jonathan Matijevich attempted to shoot Palmer during his speech. Jack Bauer, who was being forced by Ira Gaines to take the fall for the assassination, went for the gun of Secret Service agent Alan Hayes before Jonathan could pull the trigger. The distraction resulted in Palmer being evacuated safely from the building and Jack being arrested. Jack was questioned by Agent Frank Simes before managing to escape custody and flee.

- The plant is consistently called "San Clarita" during the first season, however The House Special Subcommittee's Findings at CTU correctly calls it "Santa Clarita."
