  • The location used for Omar's compound was a military base in WWII, located in Long Beach. There were large guns for defense against the Japanese, which if fired would break the glass of all the houses for miles around.
  • The slide down the hill was an unplanned move from Kiefer Sutherland.
  • The room were Heller and Audrey were held, as well as the room where Omar records the video, were built on stage.
  • Joseph Hodges had the idea for the knife to pass through two grates, to make the act seem more difficult.
  • The door behind Jack and Heller was a fake door installed to give Omar a place to exit.
  • The helicopter parked at the compound was a fake, without an engine, and needed to be craned into position.
  • James Frain originally recorded the scene with an American accent, then they re-voiced it with a British accent.
  • Joseph Hodges made CTU blue as he was getting tired of the orange and gray of previous seasons.
  • The Araz household was all built on set, and the exterior was just a plant on a concrete floor. The set had 4 more reincarnations later in the season, including Mitch Anderson's apartment and the presidential bunker.
  • The new CTU set hid the entrance, as in the past different directors would have people entering from different sides.
  • The actor playing Brody was not available, so they took a picture of a double for the picture of his body.
  • Joseph had to design the McLennen-Forster logo at the last minute.
  • Shohreh Aghdashloo cried and gave a high level of emotion throughout all the rehearsals, as it was the only way she could do the scene.
  • The large duct in the middle of CTU was to hide a column in the building it was made in.
  • The scene with Tariq and Behrooz Araz was shot at the old Manson Ranch north of their studio.
  • There was a technical camera problem in the scene with Paul, Audrey and Jack.
  • All the satellite shots from the show were taken by Joseph Hodges from a plane.
  • When Behrooz beats Tariq to death, he is using a rubber shovel on a dummy body.
