The Springfield M1A was a type of long range rifle. It was chambered for .308 caliber rounds.
Day 8[]
Pavel Tokarev used a Springfield M1A to shoot Renee Walker two inches below her heart, making her bleed out and eventually die. Tokarev later used the weapon again at Turner's Department Store to track Jack Bauer, but he was taken at gunpoint by Jim Ricker. Jack took the rifle and inspected it, identifying it as the same gun used to kill Renee. He took revenge on Tokarev by torturing and killing him with a knife.
