Jack's recorded message and the sting operation[]

When writing an article on a person's actions during the course of a Day, I assume the format should follow a kind of play-by-play of this characters actions, when they occur and not neseceraly explain their motives. However, Jack's actions on Day 3 are hardly comprehensible without explanation. I have two questions related to this.

Firstly, should the article describe Jack's actions until 8:00pm from the audience's (who don't know that Jack is involved in the threat) point of view, or from Jack's point of view (as the article is now)? Should the article reveal Jacks plan before it is revealed to the audience?

Secondly, the recorded message (one of Jack's most important moments of the Day) did not occur on screen with Jack present and was made before Day 3 began. Should it be included in a before Day 3 section of the article, in the 8:00pm-9:00pm section (when it was played at CTU), or omitted entirely (since Jack was not present and it did not effect his actions, simply the audience's understanding of them)?

Would really appreciate your input on this. I personally think that the plan should be explained and the recording described, before the main article begins, but not effect the rest of the sections until 8:00pm. Elessar2929 15:25, February 7, 2010 (UTC)

Since character articles are written from the perspective of the distant future, it is acceptable to reference Jack's larger plan before the recorded message was revealed. However, you are definitely correct in that it wouldn't follow our writing conventions to "step aside" and explain motives without a prompt from the events of the show itself. This is why I think it's best to just explain the recording at the proper time it occurs, even though Jack wasn't in the room. It was an important part of his scheme and deserves mentioning but it's awkward to discuss it before the article. However, if you feel it is best, I personally wouldn't be opposed if you created an "introduction" heading before the episode sections and talked about his pertinent actions before Day 3 there. But still include the recording at the appropriate show's time too. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 15:55, February 7, 2010 (UTC)
