Biography and career Edit

Timothy V. Murphy was born in the town of Tralee in County Kerry, Ireland, to Edward and Mary Murphy. He has five siblings. Murphy began his career in Dublin where he trained in the Focus Theater, while also working as a bouncer. He later attended University College Cork, where he majored in Law and Accounting.

Murphy has appeared in a wide variety of films through his career. Some of the ones he has worked in are National Treasure: Book of Secrets (with Jon Voight and Alicia Coppola), Appaloosa, MacGruber (with Powers Boothe and Rhys Coiro), Amber Lake (with Carmen Argenziano), and The Lone Ranger (with James Badge Dale and JD Cullum). Murphy is also known for his roles on TV series like Criminal Minds (with Sebastian Roché), Sons of Anarchy (with Jimmy Smits and Tommy Flanagan), and True Detective (with C.S. Lee).

Aside of films and TV, Murphy is also a prolific theatre actor. He has appeared in plays like The Beauty Queen of Leenane and The Lost Plays, among others.
