Tuptas was an upscale dinner restaurant in Los Angeles, close to the CTU safehouse used to house Teri and Kim Bauer during Day 1.

During her separation from her husband Jack, Teri went on a few dates at Tuptas with her close friend Phil Parslow.

Teri suffered trauma-induced dissociative amnesia upon witnessing the car carrying her daughter Kim fall down a slope and explode. A passing motorist offered to give Teri a ride to the hospital, but Teri recognized the Tuptas restaurant along the road and asked a waiter the summon the manager, Henry Martin, hoping he might be able to help her regain her memory.
Mr. Martin, concerned for Teri's well-being, called Phil Parslow to explain the situation and ask that he examine Teri personally. When Phil arrived, he diagnosed Teri with amnesia and insisted that he take her to a hospital, but she adamantly refused, so he drove her back to her house instead.
