The University of Southern California (also referred as USC) was a private university located in Los Angeles.

USC was the location of one of the televised Presidential debates between President David Palmer and Senator John Keeler at 5:00pm PST (8:00pm EST) on Day 3. There, President Palmer had a practice debate session with his brother, Chief of Staff Wayne Palmer, and an assistant. Palmer also managed the Cordilla virus crisis from the campus for the first six hours of the day. During the televised debate, Palmer departed before schedule to deal with the national crisis. Many viewers had no idea there was a terrorist threat, and Senator Keeler attempted to use the situation to discredit the President. When the crisis became public news, Keeler's plan backfired, but Palmer dropped out of the race afterward anyway.
