Experiments Edit

Use the sandbox, experiments aren't supposed to be saved to articles. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 19:29, May 5, 2010 (UTC)

Anton & Dana Edit

Regarding this edit, Anton is indeed visible in episode Day 8: 10:00pm-11:00pm. He's in the split screen at the end, sitting with Luka and looking rather bored.

Also in the future, would you mind double checking the character links you make in writing episode guide material? Dana is not Dana Walsh and many characters can't (or don't) have redirects based on first names. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 20:28, February 21, 2010 (UTC)

Deleted pictures Edit

I just noticed you uploaded new versions of two pictures I had already uploaded (one from the Chelsea Hotel and one from Manny Escobar). Were the pictures of bad quality? Just wanted to know if I was doing something wrong. Thief12 02:32, February 4, 2010 (UTC)

I uploaded them before yours but didn't put them onto any pages. --Pyramidhead 02:34, February 4, 2010 (UTC)
Figure I'll jump in here since I'm doing the picking & choosing in some of these cases. Generally I'm going with the ones that were inserted (not uploaded) first but sometimes I'll switch out the unused one that makes the better thumbnail. The funny thing is, each of you has good uploads for different reasons so I'm sitting there resizing them both on a test page to see which looks better. Time consuming! Pyramidhead's are almost always clearer and sharper but darker in many cases and larger filesize; whereas Thief's are brighter yet slightly blurrier. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 03:07, February 4, 2010 (UTC)

Cite template Edit

Check out Template talk:Cite before using the template any more; it will become strictly impossible to manage the usage of that template in articles. Plus it isn't necessary since each image has an episode category already attached to it. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 03:33, January 13, 2010 (UTC)

Dead-On II Edit

Jack HKG362 The Dead-On Award, No. 15

This, the 15th Dead-On Award, is hereby given to Pyramidhead for outstanding contributions to Wiki 24. Your work with the Movebot was invaluable, and took quite a bit of time, planning, and adjusting to set up the bot to tackle those various jobs. Also it holds the promise of making future laborious tasks much more manageable. Thank you, Pyramidhead! Blue Rook  talk  contribs 02:31, January 10, 2010 (UTC)

Rollback Edit

I know we don't see eye to eye on certain stuff, but you're long overdue for a nomination for more responsibility on the wiki if you so desire. Please confirm (or not) over on Wiki 24:Rollback! Good luck bud. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 03:15, November 3, 2009 (UTC)

Oh crud Edit

I just realized that Special:UnusedFiles is being filled up with images you've elided from the episode guides in favor of the split screens. They have to be restored, even if it means that some of the split screens need to go. The reason is because the images are there for illustrative purposes. Those all had descriptive captions, and even if you went back and added captions to all those new split screens, it wouldn't suffice since those are disjointed snippets unrelated to the structure of the guides. This is a large problem I just became aware of. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 20:44, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

The large majority of the images I took out were pictures of characters literally in the same paragraph as another picture of the same characters - i.e., a picture of Martha and Logan talking immediately followed by a picture of them kissing. The rest were lower-quality split screen images I replaced with own DVD screencaps. I think a lot of these we can just delete permanently. But even if not, they're still going to be in the image category for each episode. --Pyramidhead 20:57, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
Okay, going through Special:UnusedFiles, I saw maybe 15 or 20 pictures I remember removing from the episode pages. Again, I don't think a lot was lost in the choices I made - most of those pages had too many images to begin with, judging by what I had to do to get Day 1 11:00pm-12:00am in shape to be featured. --Pyramidhead 21:02, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
415 Split 4

Original-smaller filesize, clearer+ brighter thumbnail

Your upload-jumbo filesize, far darker, very unclear thumbnail for guide

Can you compile the list of the 15-20 that aren't replaced split screens? I restored one of Alexander Trepkos. Many of them were descriptive and room can be made to reinsert them.
Moving forward, from now on you must consult the community when you have any endeavor like this in mind in the future, something that affects a large number of articles and the images, etc., or anything like this. The effort is well-intentioned and constructive but you've ignored the community and also violated the image policy and a consensus policy. The image policy is explicit: at Template:Fairuse the images acceptable are "web-resolution" which in practice is generally a few dozen KB, nowhere near as large as the average 500+ KB colossal files being uploaded now. Remember Simon replacing all the Previously images that were uploaded in too large filesizes by another user? Also recall the consensus policy about changing main images, as you did for Day 2 3:00am-4:00am. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 19:48, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
In fact many of the images are far darker than the ones you replaced, aside from being quadruple in filesize, making for very poor thumbnails. I simply don't see how the image you uploaded, right, is an improved version of the original, below it.

Can't help but to agree with Blue Rook, I really dislike this policy you have single-handedly decided needs to be enforced on all episode pages which removes plenty of excellent quality or descriptive images and replaces them with images that now look repetitive in visual style not only on the individual page but also on episode guides as a whole. Moreover your plan of putting split-screens on one side and other images on the other is a dull wall of presentation that takes away from what I consider (and this is personal and may not spread out beyond me, but my style has not been complained about ever) to be a more jumbled but interesting presentation of images which I have placed in the past. As Blue Rook mentioned such a momentous decision, much like the implemention of the "Story Development" or "New Intel" tab or whatever, requires a community decision. --SignorSimon (talk/contribs/email) 22:24, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

At some point we'll have to revisit each of these episode guides to correct the sizing of those split screen images at least. The sizes aren't normal at all. Remember that this wiki isn't a repository for images, and unless the shot does something to describe the plot (i.e. pertinent captions) there is no warrant for the image. It doesn't bode well for any of those. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 03:20, October 14, 2009 (UTC)
Okay, I'll start resizing them. --Pyramidhead 08:26, October 14, 2009 (UTC)
When you get around to it - since you'll already be editing the guides - would you be willing to delete the defunct StoryDevelopment template at the same time? I know you disabled it, but the potential for someone else finding it and using it for mischief still remains so long as the template is present. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 18:14, October 16, 2009 (UTC)

Note Edit

Please check out Template talk:StoryDevelopment. I have a feeling that the template won't pass muster, and if it doesn't we'll have tons of hard work to undo. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 18:45, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

You have the right to keep adding that StoryDev template of course, I'm just trying to save you some teeth-grinding since I have good reason, given precedent, to suspect that it won't remain eventually.
Thanks for doing those hour disambigs! Eventually will have to be moved to correspond with the disambig page policy, please keep that in mind if you make the others.
On two other topics, be careful when linking to characters with first or last names only. It's getting too complicated for me to run through and correct all of those. For example, we can't have Mike being used as a redirect to Mike Novick; and names like Prescott, Logan, and Palmer all refer to multiple characters and cannot be used as character-specific redirects either. There is one last thing, when you add the hour disambig to the "See also" section, remember to add bulleted article links below the Quotes and Images templates so the spacing will be fixed. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 19:16, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

Jack Bauer kills video Edit

That video was simply awesome! Did you made it or just found it on YouTube? If you made it, my hat's off to you. Also, what was that song? Thief12 04:06, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

Made it, thanks for watching! The songs are listed at the end. --Pyramidhead 05:02, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
It looks like I didn't stay for the credits ;-) Thanks, I just saw them. Thief12 10:43, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
UNREAL. I'm at a loss for words. It's a huge honor to be part of the 24 community where you work, Pyramidhead. Major thanks for posting that here, and for making it in the first place. That's the best custom-made 24 youtube vid I've ever seen! Blue Rook  talk  contribs 16:09, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

Ooh, what is this video and where can I see it?? --SignorSimon (talk/contribs/email) 17:03, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

Hah, what a moron. That's awesome! --SignorSimon (talk/contribs/email) 17:07, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
Haha, glad you all liked it. :) --Pyramidhead 11:44, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
Really slick video. Fantastic. What kind of software did you use? --SuperWaffle 01:50, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Dude, when you're gonna make this same video with all the missing deaths? Can't wait for it! -- Dao04 17:17, 09 Jun 2010 (UTC)

Main image Edit

Remember that an episode article main image change needs now to be preceded by a discussion on the matter. I reverted your change of the Day 7 12:00pm-1:00pm image. --proudhug 22:18, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

Appearances Edit

Please put your input on this topic Talk:Day 7 9:00pm-10:00pm here, you may not have noticed that discussion recently. It regards a proposed change in some of the edits you & others often make. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 13:10, 24 March 2009 (UTC)

David Emerson Edit

If you haven't already, be sure to check out Emerson's talk page. Please post your thoughts opinion on why you think it was Tony's kill before changing the pages. --Proudhug 00:06, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for your input! :) --Proudhug 18:23, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Deaths on 24 Edit

I reverted your boldings of main characters in the Deaths on 24 page, since the tables are technically an IU piece of information. I don't like the idea of highlighting certain deaths in the chart, based on OOU credit choices. That said, perhaps there's a spot for that information elsewhere, either at the bottom of that page or on a separate one? --Proudhug 17:01, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

Sidebar heading Edit

Wow, I never even noticed that our headings only list the time, not the Day! I have no idea why this is. This heading is suppose to be the title of the article, therefore it should include "Day X" in it, right? --Proudhug 01:37, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

I always assumed it was because, technically, the episodes don't have titles, just times. So the sidebar titles are all correct, and Day X is used in the article title to distinguish each episode from its counterparts in other seasons. --Pyramidhead 03:02, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
I hate saying this, but the times are the titles. According to IMDB (which is a better source for OOU info that it is for IU) the titles are the times, with periods in the "am" or "pm", and each episode has a Day # in it except for the Season 1 episodes. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 03:07, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
Unrelated to this topic, but not worthy of having its own heading: poke. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 23:04, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

Season 7 Edit

Hey bud, I'm glad you're prepared to be a part of the Season 7 madness that will be going on here shortly! But although it's just a few days away, Redemption hasn't aired yet and any images and s7 content are still spoilers. Please wait until the airing before posting more, otherwise others might think policy can be shirked around here :) Blue Rook  talk  contribs 18:42, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

Just putting things in place ahead of time. I won't link anything until it airs. :) --Pyramidhead 19:27, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
Alrighty, just note that linking isn't a prerequisite for an edit to count as a spoiler. On a different topic, regarding the city names, I and Simon have reverted those moves because at this wiki we only add state/countries after a city in its title when another city has the same title. Otherwise it's not necessary; we use a different standard than Wikipedia's for the sake of simplicity, and also because state/countries after a city in its title serve as disambig tags here. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 20:22, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

I'm really happy to see you're back for Redemption! But please don't forget the Show preview. All these new histories are getting flooded with unnecessary amounts of revisions. Also keep an eye out for category arrangement consistency. And oh god, we can't move the Unnamed characters pages... ever! Moving them in any way will break every single link that goes to any entry on those pages. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 09:16, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

Trivia Edit

Please don't use the heading "Trivia." It's very unencylcopedic and doesn't look professional. Anything that would fall under the category of trivia should either be incorporated into the main part of the article somewhere or under "Background information and notes." --Proudhug 13:09, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

Just a reminder. If something's not worth putting in the main section of an OOU article, then it's probably not worth mentioning at all in an encyclopedia. --Proudhug 06:37, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

Wikipedia links Edit

Could you please read the Talk page for Songs featured on 24 before you go about adding more Wikipedia links? Your input would be appreciated, since there's a dispute. --Proudhug 09:47, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

Guest character question Edit

The page history for one of the pages you have contributed much to, Guest characters, shows that you plugged the character played by Paris Tanaka into the list (17:36, 9 August 2007). That character page had been deleted once in the past, but resurrected without anyone noticing; I've called it into question again. I want to be positive before I remove it that it is truly a hoax. My question is: do you remember how you find the page for Maya for you to include it in the list? I'm just looking to see if you had verified that name with a source, or simply trusted that the article was itself correct when you linked it (which is totally understandable, anyone who creates links does it all the time, i.e. everyone). If this sounds accusatory or hostile, please know that absolutely is not my intention; I'm just looking to be positive that this character name is a hoax before I delete the page. – Blue Rook 23:24, 19 August 2007 (UTC)talkcontribs

Honestly, I just assumed it had already been confirmed. IMDb just lists her as "Hotel Guest," and they give nonspeaking characters names other times, so I bet it's a hoax. --Pyramidhead 07:23, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
That's good to know, thank you man. This had nothing to do with your editing integrity which (as I have expressed in the past and will assert now) is outstanding. It is just part of a little investigation I have going. I appreciate the help! – Blue Rook 08:02, 20 August 2007 (UTC)talkcontribs
Just dropping in to unlink some deleted stuff, including the page in the discussion of this thread, and some blather of mine. Hope ya don't mind Pyramidhead. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 05:25, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

DOJ Edit

Do you have a source for this acronym, or did it just come from real life? --Proudhug 13:45, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

I have heard it in real life, and I'm pretty sure I heard Buchanan use it in Day 6 12:00am-1:00am. I'm not positive, though :P --Pyramidhead 17:38, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

Okay cool. I'll remove it until we find a source for it. --Proudhug 18:34, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

It was used many times in 24 Declassified: Veto Power, including page 128. Protocol Red 16:19, 23 November 2007 (UTC)--

Excellent work, Protocol Red! Thanks a lot. --Proudhug 18:38, 23 November 2007 (UTC)

Dead-On Edit

Jack HKG362 The Dead-On Award, No. 1

This, the 1st Dead-On Award, is hereby given to User:Pyramidhead for outstanding contributions to Wiki 24. Thank you for the many impressive months of dedicated contributions of all sizes, and for not caving in to peer pressure (below)! – Blue Rook 08:17, 13 June 2007 (UTC)talkcontribs

Aw, thanks a lot! And don't worry...I'll get to my user page...someday. :) --Pyramidhead 01:50, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

User page! Edit

Good heavens man, make a user page already! You've been contributing so much here for months and months, and we still don't know one iota about you.

Of course, you don't really have to, and absolutely nothing will happen if you opt to not or never get around to making one. Plus, as you might be able to tell, I put way too much work into my own userpage, so I'm speaking from bias. Yet, the invite still stands! And, if you ever choose to make one, feel free to rip off my wikitext if you're inspired by some of the tables, or whatever formatting you might like. When I made my page, you can tell I emulated CWY2190's mini table (as well as his little signature thing).– Blue Rook 17:01, 8 June 2007 (UTC)talkcontribs

Might I suggest remaking a userpage? A small one will do. I'm mostly bothered by the redlinks I see to that page. OneWeirdDude 18:17, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
I just redirected it to right here. If that's a problem Pyramidhead please blank it or let me know, and we'll stop worrying about it :) Blue Rook  talk  contribs 17:24, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

Sublime vs. Mean Red Spiders Edit

Are you positive that these two songs were backwards? I got the information from 24: The Unofficial Guide. The book does contain errors, but I'm not familiar with either band, so I had no way of verifying them myself. --Proudhug 03:40, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

I managed to get a hold of the songs over the weekend. Live at E's is the song that plays on the way over, starting with that shot of the clock. Compromise plays when they pull up at the store. --Pyramidhead 03:42, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Excellent. Thanks for that! --Proudhug 04:26, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Episode guide headings Edit

It's really unnecessary to create a new heading for every timestamp of the episode. This makes the Table of Contents needlessly long. Bolding the mid-act timestamps is sufficient, as it looks the same. --Proudhug 14:36, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Re: The Game Edit

Did you see my post in The Situation Room about organizing The Game? --Proudhug 21:04, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

Uploading images Edit

Please be careful when you're uploading images that you're not replacing existing filenames. --Proudhug 12:36, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

Also, why did you replace the Teri Bauer image with an identical image of lower resolution? --Proudhug 15:26, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

I didn't. It's higher-res. --Pyramidhead 21:41, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

It says the original (Image:Teribauer.jpg) is 350×432. The replacement (Image:Teribauer2.jpg) is 250×376, although the filesize is larger. --Proudhug 21:46, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

I figured I might as well resize that pic in Photoshop to the size it would be on here, so it doesn't get blurred by the formatting. Also cropped it a little to match the size of the other main cast pics better. --Pyramidhead 21:50, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

Tuptas Edit

Is the name "Tuptas Restaurant" seen in the episode? I don't recall. Perhaps you could provide a pic for the article. --Proudhug 03:42, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Hey...sorry I never replied before, just couldn't figure out the Talk feature. :)
Here's where I got the restauraunt name from:
I was rewatching S1 a few days ago and caught it. - Pyramidhead

Thanks, Pyramidhead. I saw that, but didn't realize it was the name of the restaurant. I'm too lazy to break out my DVD right now, but are you sure that it's actually the name of the restaurant, or could it be something else?

I moved your reply here, as it makes it easier for other people to follow conversations. Also, to sign your comments, just type in four tildes in a row, ~~~~. --Proudhug 04:15, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Here's another shot for clarification:

Kinda weird that they wouldn't refer to it in some other way, but I think it's the best we're going to get. Pyramidhead 04:25, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Cool, thanks for the clarification. I'm thinking the article should just be called "Tuptas" though. Also, I just want to say keep up the excellent work on the site, and why not fill out a bit of a profile? --Proudhug 04:47, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Status Edit

Be forewarned that "Status" can be a touchy subject on Wiki 24. It's not like fixing a typo or adding a missing piece of information. Generally speaking, the Status of any character has been chosen for a reason and, unless new concrete information was just given in an episode, it's usually unwise to change any character's Status without first discussing it on the Talk page. --Proudhug 06:10, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

Previously on 24. Edit

Good job with new Image. I like it better. :) Tony Almeida 24 11:35, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

Day 7 5:00am-6:00am Edit

The main image for this article is 7x22_b. It was the general consensus, and the other two images are features in the article. If you would like to make a case for 7x22_a, I suggest making it on the talk page.    Willo    talk    contribs    email   05:37, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

I looked on the talk page and there's no consensus as far as I can see. And again, it's just weird to use the same character for two main images in a row; shouldn't we try to be as "diverse" so to speak as possible? --Pyramidhead 05:38, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
That's a debate for the talk page of the episode. However, I looked at the page before I made the episode guide and determined that, while there was no clear consensus, there was a general feeling that the main image should either be 7x22_JibraanJack or 7x22_b. So I used one in the body and one as the main image. However, since the episode guide has been written, any changes to the main image must be discussed on the talk page first. It may very well eventually become the main image, but only after discussion.    Willo    talk    contribs    email   05:43, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

On a related note, it is Wiki 24 policy that once an episode guide is written, the main image can not be changed without discussion. This is done because writing the episode guide is a serious investment of time, and not an easy task either. If you want to make a case for another image, bring it up on the talk page.    Willo    talk    contribs    email   08:27, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Images Edit

What programme are you using to capture images? They are much too dark and I can barely see some of them on my monitor. I think they will need to be replaced. Also, you don't specify image size so they are all a tad too small. They should at least be 200px. Finally, you put too images on the image. Guides need between 10-15 images at the most. That one has over 20. --SignorSimon (talk/contribs/email) 12:00, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

...ugh. Turns out I left on the image adjustment I use on VLC to make the new episodes look better. Guess the S1 rips didn't like it as much. --Pyramidhead 12:01, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for replacing the dark PNGs with the replacement JPGs man. Most of the replacement jpgs are black smears on my iPhone though. Do you know how to artificially brighten the images? I use a program called Preview that can easily brighten the screenshots in several ways. There is a fine line between making them too bright, and leaving them as splotchy spots for mobile devices with browsers. I can tell you about it, might this function interest you in the future? Blue Rook  talk  contribs 23:08, December 19, 2009 (UTC)
This is really confusing! How come you went back and specifically uploaded darker images for all those Season 6 split screens? There's literally no other changes between those versions other than increased filesize and darker quality, the two things me and Simon were most concerned about. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 01:40, December 20, 2009 (UTC)
I uploaded new, higher-quality versions of each one; the last ones had too many artifacts. I'm not sure what to tell you - I just took screenshots of the DVD versions in VLC, without adjusting the image at all, so what you see is what you get. They don't look particularly dark to me. Which ones are you having a problem with? --Pyramidhead 07:04, December 20, 2009 (UTC)
Each one I click on is darker than the prior version. It's true that there is a reduction in some of the pixelation, but it's minor and certainly it isn't worth all your effort? Remember that minor pixelation is insignificant when it purpose is an illustrative thumbnail. All these replacements have done is made the images darker, not clearer. On a different thing, in the future, please remember to insert the Category:Images (Split screen) category in any split screen images. We've got hundreds of them now without it and this could have been avoided if you had simply told the community of your plan, someone would have remembered the category and mentioned it. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 20:06, December 20, 2009 (UTC)
I know about the split screen category, I just figured it could be added along with the bazillion character categories once someone gets around to doing it for each of these split screen images. Okay, I brightened the images by +45 in Photoshop for Day 5 7:00am-8:00am. Does that make a difference? If not, I can brighten them more. --Pyramidhead 23:45, December 20, 2009 (UTC)
Yes those are definitely brighter, improvements for sure. I don't think it's necessary to go through again to re-upload them all, just any of the particularly dark night-time episode split screens as you see fit, if you can. If you really plan on doing them all, maybe try a few test runs like that and we can evaluate if it will be worth it. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 19:36, December 21, 2009 (UTC)

If you have picture from day 8 episode 4 please please update! especially ones with renne and jack!

HEY, if you have pictures from season 8 episode 4 especially if its renee and jack can u please please please update!

Edit on Day 4: 7:00am-8:00am Edit

About your edit on the background information and notes, what's the big deal about the change in the running clock? It's barely noteworthy.----Deep Sky (talk /contribs/email) 02:30, February 13, 2010 (UTC)

Main photo Edit

Sorry about changing the main photo for Day 8 11pm-12am without talking it over, can i do that here? or is it too late? 04:10, April 5, 2010 (UTC)

Samir spoilers Edit

Really, man? Really? And what was with changing the episode guide images earlier, like three of them without discussion? After all this time? Blue Rook  talk  contribs 05:16, April 11, 2010 (UTC)

For some reason, I didn't think of it as a spoiler at the time - as usual, there was no clear-cut indication that he actually died, so nothing I changed was "spoiling" the next episode, per se. Sorry if I was wrong. What episode guide images are you referring to? --Pyramidhead 06:03, April 11, 2010 (UTC)
He looked pretty dead to me. I mean, if you get shot by Jack Bauer, expect to be dead unless it furthers the plot for you to still just be alive. And from what you see at the end of the last episode, he's dead. And Rook is likely referring to the Day 6: 5:00am-6:00am main pic as well as several (in fact, I think more than three) from Season 3. --SignorSimon (talk/contribs/email) 09:16, April 11, 2010 (UTC)

Episode credits Edit

Sorry if this sounds incredibly demeaning, but you are checking the actual episode credits when you're adding them aren't you? It's just that they do change slightly for some episodes for roles such as assistant editor, etc. --SignorSimon (talk/contribs/email) 09:37, April 26, 2010 (UTC)

Yes, I am. --Pyramidhead 10:24, April 26, 2010 (UTC)

Summaries Edit

I was wondering why you keep rewriting the short episode summaries I add each week. Here is what I mean. What's wrong? --Noahcs 03:54, May 18, 2010 (UTC)

Pyramidhead if you're overwriting Noahcs' work please keep in mind the deletion policy; nobody really cites that policy but we do have it on the books. Rewrite/expand upon instead of overwrite unless it really needs it. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 05:12, May 18, 2010 (UTC)

Jack's History Edit

On his page it states continues awards, decorations, he was a Ranger, he was a Green Beret, and he was a Green Beret instructor. Where does it say any of this? The books?

Jack Bauer killsEdit

I really like your video, the end was absolutely awesome. It was going on really fast :) --Station7 19:33, June 8, 2010 (UTC)

Thank you! I started on the updated version the other day. --Pyramidhead 19:37, June 8, 2010 (UTC)

New templateEdit

Who created the new template? It looks great.--Station7 21:09, June 9, 2010 (UTC)

Lost or 24Edit

Which serie do you love more, 24 or Lost? Actually it doesn't matter if I ask you this question on Lostpedia or 24 Wiki. If you don't know it, are you also on more Wiki's?--Station7 20:17, June 19, 2010 (UTC)

Pyramidhead please do this. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 05:26, June 20, 2010 (UTC)
I know I complained about it, but I think "Episodes featuring..." is clear enough, even if technically they weren't in the actual episode. I can't think of something equivalent for deleted characters that wouldn't sound ridiculous. "Episodes X was deleted from?" --Pyramidhead 05:28, June 20, 2010 (UTC)
Maybe just exclude any text to begin with. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 06:30, June 20, 2010 (UTC)
This is so completely brutal. You did the damage, it is overdue for it to be fixed. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 02:28, June 27, 2010 (UTC)

Continents & Countries Edit

What are the sources for all of this continent and country information? I see Africa has a map image to get some names from, but what about the others? --proudhug 02:47, June 24, 2010 (UTC)

This --Pyramidhead 07:54, June 24, 2010 (UTC)

Declassified edits Edit

Pyramidhead, I just wondered what was with those edits you made the Operation Hell Gate and Veto Power with the blue "following takes place between" things? --SignorSimon (talk/contribs/email) 23:10, June 25, 2010 (UTC)

It doesn't seem right to completely leave out those opening bits, when they're on all the episode pages. I was thinking we could use just one for the first chapter, just to show the style and timezone for the particular book. --Pyramidhead 20:53, June 26, 2010 (UTC)
I think they look very out of place. There's nowhere else on the site where we do anything like that. I think it looks really strange, especially since it's just on the first hour of each page. --proudhug 04:35, June 27, 2010 (UTC)

Sort it out Edit

What are you doing? Blue Rook isn't editing on the Wiki because you won't make a single, tiny edit to the non-canon character pages. It isn't too hard to do and because he's not here to help out we're missing his quality edits. Instead you completely ignore him and just go about messing around with aesthetic differences to tables. If you don't sort this out within the next few days I'll take the steps Rook wasn't willing to and ban you myself. --SignorSimon (talk/contribs/email) 17:37, July 16, 2010 (UTC)

Wait, what? When did Blue Rook leave? --Pyramidhead 18:02, July 16, 2010 (UTC) 18:00, July 16, 2010 (UTC)

a bot task Edit

Hey Pyramidhead, I was wondering if it would be possible at all to use the bot to add Category:Templates to all the stuff that begins with "Template". It's just to remove everything here. Would that work? Thanks. --SignorSimon (talk/contribs/email) 12:33, August 2, 2010 (UTC)

PS. congrats on exactly 11,000 edits! Quite an achievement! --SignorSimon (talk/contribs/email) 12:33, August 2, 2010 (UTC)

Sidebars Edit

Dude, why are you seperating the sidebars? We agreed a while ago that its easier for it to be all one sidebar and this is going to be a ridiculous task to change over and an irritating one to manage thereafter. --SignorSimon (talk/contribs/email) 09:33, September 15, 2010 (UTC)

It's happening as we speak. The original sidebar template will be reworked so that it can be for any purpose - i.e., you'd put in left1 = Starring:, right1 = Kiefer Sutherland, etc... We'll be able to use it on article types that don't have much use, like the movie, rather than just putting in a table that looks like the sidebar. Believe me, the current system is a royal pain to maintain, what with lines that show up sometimes and not other times and so on. This will be much simpler. --Pyramidhead 09:37, September 15, 2010 (UTC)
All the characters, crew members, and about a third of the actors are switched over. --Pyramidhead 09:38, September 15, 2010 (UTC)

But this is a colossal thing to change that you've done once again without asking anyone! We all now have to remember to use specific terms for sidebars which I think will be irritating for everyone. What is so hard to manage with the current sidebar? The minor benefits that you state (the left1 and right1 thing) seem minor in terms of the articles they will be used one (theres about 3 pages that spring to mind) in comparison to the effort the rest of us will have to remember the new system. --SignorSimon (talk/contribs/email) 09:40, September 15, 2010 (UTC)
It doesn't seem to me to be that colossal of a change. It'll simplify matters, actually, since now we can clearly define what each type of sidebar should and shouldn't have. If you prefer, we can leave the original as it is - so it can still be used as it currently is - but I really think separating the different types is the way to go; literally every other wiki I've visited does this.
I've stopped changing pages over for tonight. Again, I'm sorry for not asking, but it honestly seemed like a strictly technical change rather than one that might require discussion - the new templates are exactly the same as the original, just with a more limited range of arguments. --Pyramidhead 09:47, September 15, 2010 (UTC)
By hard to manage, I meant that a lot of arguments overlap for different types of pages where the sidebar is used. There was, of course, the season/seasons conflict between episode and character sidebars, which I've already fixed in the new template. "Date of birth" can refer to either a character or an actor/crew member. "Author" (which translates to "Written by") is used in both the context of an episode teleplay and a novel, which makes virtually no sense whatsoever. Keeping them all in the correct order is a project in itself. Then there's also the magical invisible lines, which have to show up only when you have X argument but not Y. The item pages have two lines for some reason that I haven't been able to figure out yet. It's just gotten progressively more annoying to put in new features, which at the very least is one problem that separating the templates will solve. --Pyramidhead 09:52, September 15, 2010 (UTC)
I seriously don't understand half of the problems you have explained. I can't think of many occasions when there have been arguments as to what things should be included on a sidebar for a certain page, but surely with the system we have now, we include everything possible in the sidebar. The season/seasons thing has been cleared up, as you said, so that doesn't really count. Why does it matter if "date of birth" is available for all sidebars, no one is stupid enough to try to put it in the sidebar for, for example, Los Angeles. I have no idea what you're talking about with regards to the "written by" thing: what makes no sense that the episode author and novel author be referred to in the same way?! And just because other wikis do it one way, doesn't mean we have to follow them blindly. We need to do whats right for us. --SignorSimon (talk/contribs/email) 10:15, September 15, 2010 (UTC)
Looking at this as objectively as possible, I can't see why we don't just fix the problems with the multi-use sidebar instead of creating separate ones. Making new sidebars isn't a real solution. We need to fix the other one and keep it consistent like we have been since 2005. As for the other wikis, I couldn't care less what they do.
At this point, although Pyramidhead's edits are definitely invaluable, I want to propose a policy that any series of bot edits be proposed to the community 2 days before they're performed. The more heads we put together the better: Forum:Bot edit policy proposal. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 19:26, September 15, 2010 (UTC)

I didn't know that. I don't live in England/America. I thought Caltrans was a name of a character that gave information to Adam. Off course, I couldn't know that :( By the way, I can't use my signature, but this is Station7.

Sorry if I was a little rude, but Caltrans isn't a last name and it was referenced by name at least ten times throughout the series. Just for future reference, it's generally helpful to Google references in the show, because they tend to have real-life equivalents. --Pyramidhead 20:51, October 17, 2010 (UTC)
Hey Pyramidhead be nice  :P Blue Rook  talk  contribs 05:30, October 18, 2010 (UTC)

Could you have a look?Edit

Could you look at the page of Brad Turner? It looks not great, if you see the same as me.--Station7 16:32, November 18, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks, you made me very happy with that change ;) --Station7 20:16, November 18, 2010 (UTC)

Sorry for "my not really good English", but at least I updated it ;) --Station7 19:49, November 19, 2010 (UTC)

Pokeboard Edit

This thread is where I'll just post links to discussions/diffs elsewhere that you may want to see, without creating a new topic headings to bloat your talk page. Check out Template_talk:MilRanks and then also if you can answer the questions over at the bottom of Forum:Wikia's "new look". Blue Rook  talk  contribs 04:42, November 27, 2010 (UTC)

Also, if you want Pagemove, just drop a nomination for the public record, we can get one for Movebot too. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 10:22, November 29, 2010 (UTC)

Please remember to add Fairuse and the correct episode category to all the firearms images you uploaded as per the image policy. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 03:51, February 1, 2011 (UTC)

Go screw yourself, retard. Edit

I did not list Kail as deceased. I simply left the status section blank. Saying that his fate is unknown is speculation. Leave the status section blank and get a brain. Have a wonderful weekend. ;) -- 14:25, January 15, 2011 (UTC)

It's against policy to leave the "Status" field blank. Please read this before editing: Category:Characters_of_unknown_status. Thank you. --Pyramidhead 18:26, January 15, 2011 (UTC)
First, the way you are conducting this discussion is offensive. The messages and edit summaries you have been leaving are malicious, so please conduct yourself as dispassionately as possible from this point on.
With that in mind, it should be noted that there is no policy which states that a character "must" have a status posted; the status policy merely restricts status to three possibilities and rules out other verbiage or more descriptive terms. Pyramidhead I know you feel differently about this, but it is clear to me that policy pages do not state such a claim explicitly at this point. The link to the category you posted here is not formal policy, it's just inclusion criteria for those categories.
This, however, doesn't mean that I am supporting, nor does it mean that Martin Kail shouldn't be listed as Unknown. Martin Kail's status is unknown because the last time we saw him, his fate was uncertain. He was not clearly dead and may have been going into a coma, shock, etc.
Please continue this discussion at Talk:Martin Kail instead of here, since it is the most appropriate place. I started a thread there. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 21:56, January 15, 2011 (UTC)

Pedro(s) Edit

What is the other Pedro? You had moved Pedro (Day 3) twice before, and now I'd like to create the disambig page and everything. I cannot find the other Pedro however to proceed. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 14:50, March 13, 2011 (UTC)

Hey Blue Rook, think it's Pedro (Chaos Theory)--Acer4666 15:01, March 13, 2011 (UTC)

Welcome back! Edit

It's been a while, but great to see you back! Hope all is good - I've been working on those weapons pages we started ages ago, but I'm still only up to Season 5. Was the google maps template for the Filming locations on 24 pages?--Acer4666 (talk) 14:34, February 16, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks buddy! Yeah, the computer I worked on years ago pooped out on me and I sort of drifted away, busy with work and school and other things. Hopefully I'll stick around this time.

Yes, the icon's for the filming locations pages. I made a lot of edits to Season 1 but got too tired to post them last night. I was thinking of changing it so that the major locations are listed at the start of the article rather than repeated in every single episode section. --Pyramidhead (talk) 20:37, February 16, 2013 (UTC)

Large scale changes Edit

If you're planning on doing mass changes that affect a huge number of pages, or re-jigging the entire category structure, could you please use the forum before you do so to get some sort of community input--Acer4666 (talk) 12:43, June 3, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for starting a forum thread, but could you not wait until consensus is reached there before continuing with your category change? There is at least the "mentioned locations" issue to sort out there, which you are continuing to edit onto multiple pages as per your own opinion--Acer4666 (talk) 03:08, June 15, 2013 (UTC)
You're continuing to do this, please stop--Acer4666 (talk) 19:10, June 16, 2013 (UTC)
This is the last warning. Stop adding Category:Mentioned locations to any articles, before it has been approved by consensus on Forum:Category changes. I don't know why you are continually ignoring me--Acer4666 (talk) 10:14, June 25, 2013 (UTC)
Sorry! From what I saw there wasn't any more discussion happening. --Pyramidhead (talk) 18:06, June 25, 2013 (UTC)

Sidebar practises Edit

Hey, you need to check out Forum:Adding_"Day_X"_before_episode_appearance", we are deliberately keeping the "Day X" in the sidebar appearance field, lots of the edits you've done are removing this--Acer4666 (talk) 02:59, June 15, 2013 (UTC)

Impressive work Edit

I just wanted to commend you on all the work you've overtaken recently. The vast amount of updates and edits you've made is astonishing. Just wanted to let you know that it is noticed. Thief12 (talk) 13:05, June 29, 2013 (UTC)

I agree with Thief12 on here. You work here is amazing. --Station7 (talk) 16:41, June 29, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks guys! I work from home now so a lot of it comes out of having way more time to goof off. :) --Pyramidhead (talk) 18:57, June 29, 2013 (UTC)

Bot policy Edit

The policy for bot edits that was outlined here, which you agreed to but haven't been sticking to, has now been properly codified onto our policy page. Any edits with user:Movebot must have a discussion first and a 48 hour wait before doing them--Acer4666 (talk) 15:57, August 9, 2013 (UTC)

Sorry. I just didn't want to spam everyone's news feed fixing the DCs everywhere. I'll definitely give warning in the future! --Pyramidhead (talk) 17:49, August 9, 2013 (UTC)
OK, please stop! The policy does not just require a warning of large scale changes, it requires at least 48 hours notice before you implement them! Just because 1 person agrees with it doesn't mean consensus is reached. You need to give everyone a chance to chime in--Acer4666 (talk) 22:44, August 9, 2013 (UTC)
Alright. I'm sorry, really, I just didn't think this particular point was something anyone would feel too strongly about - especially since I'm the one who originally spearheaded the cities categories in the first place. Also, I wanted to clean up some of the pages in the process - add sidebars, missing info, etc. I'll hold off on the categories. Do you want me to revert the cat changes I already made? --Pyramidhead (talk) 22:51, August 9, 2013 (UTC)
No, finish off this particular change, don't leave it half way through, but I just need to make sure you understand the policies I'm talking about. Maybe no-one will feel strongly about it - but either way you need to give people a chance to air their views.
Slightly unrelated, but I see you're removing the "county" field from the sidebars - are you planning to remove that field altogether from the sidebar template? Are we just having state and country for cities?--Acer4666 (talk) 23:00, August 9, 2013 (UTC)
It's tricky - there's no IU source for what lies inside L.A. County and what lies outside, so I'm limiting it to Los Angeles and all the neighborhoods in L.A. It's the same reason I changed the category to be "the Los Angeles area" rather than "Los Angeles County." --Pyramidhead (talk) 23:05, August 9, 2013 (UTC)
OK fair enough, it's up to you how much OOU recognition you want to use - but we do have this policy now, which means you could probably get away with recognising a city as being in LA County and identify it as such in-universe. Like I'm sure there aren't iu sources for all the cities being in their respective states, but we can recognise that when the city is mentioned they're talking about an area in that state so include it on the articles.--Acer4666 (talk) 23:13, August 9, 2013 (UTC)
The problem is that filming locations often stand in for someplace entirely different or made up, so I'm not sure if "recognizing" it is enough to make that kind of leap. Also they made Saugus into its own city so that brings in a whole new realm of uncertainty. My rule of thumb, for real places that are mentioned once/rarely, is to only go so far as including what type of place it is in the real world. When I made Redondo from the season 1 mention, I was able to call it a city rather than a state or region because that's what it actually is and that was the intended context, but anything relating to where it was located had to be taken from other dialogue/sources. After I spotted it on a Season 5 map I could add that it's in California, on the beach, etc. Since there's no boundaries given for the fictional L.A. county, I'd rather not go by what they are in the real world - especially since there are made-up places like San Gabriel Island and Jefferson Heights.
Sorry again about jumping the gun. Definitely something I need to work on :)--Pyramidhead (talk) 23:29, August 9, 2013 (UTC)

Findings Delta Force dudes Edit

Just a moment ago I made this edit to Dwayne Shelton's article, simply moving the BGIN header above the retconned information. Before I went and did it to the others, do you have any objections / thoughts? Blue Rook  talk  contribs 05:10, December 4, 2013 (UTC)

I don't think it makes sense to move what would normally be the main body of the article into the end section; it seems too important to be relegated to background information. Plus it looks really weird with the bulleted list below it. I get that it's to distinguish what originally happened from what "actually" happened, but I think that's served by the indented lines as it is. Maybe we could italicize/indent the entire section, similar to how we indicate added scenes on the episode pages? --Pyramidhead (talk) 06:05, December 4, 2013 (UTC)

The difference is that the added scenes you bring up are IU, whereas retconned stuff is totally OOU. Because the way this project is structured, I'm not seeing any other way to do it. It might help to know that I never looked at BGIN as a place where we "relegate" stuff. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 06:12, December 4, 2013 (UTC)

I guess I'd prefer to bend the rules a little when there's so much that's being retconned. It's not a deleted scene that can be summed up in a single bullet point. It's a unique situation for the canon, and there's a lot of detail that's going to end up in the BGiN section under the current rules; the article, to me, flows much better without a header cutting it in two. I won't object if you want to change the rest of them, but I'd much rather treat these as a special case. --Pyramidhead (talk) 06:56, December 4, 2013 (UTC)

Birthdates on American actors Edit

I think the 24 actors in America should have the America dates on these articles, while we can have the actors from Great Britain, France, etc. have traditional dates since Americans don't use date/month/year and they use month/date/year. BattleshipMan (talk) 03:48, December 21, 2013 (UTC)

Well, I'm just going by how Memory Alpha handles it - I feel it should be either one or the other across the board instead of different standards for different nationalities. The good thing is, since it's a template, it'll be easy to change down the road if need be. --Pyramidhead (talk) 03:50, December 21, 2013 (UTC)
Maybe a template for the American date (month/date/year) should be created for the American actors and such so we won't have confusion with American readers. BattleshipMan (talk) 03:53, December 21, 2013 (UTC)
Just browsed through Wikipedia and it seems like they really do use one or the other based on whether it's about something American or not. Seeing as I've corrected British spellings on here before, I guess it would make sense to use M d, Y at least some of the time. I don't know if it's worth it to have two separate templates, though. --Pyramidhead (talk) 04:01, December 21, 2013 (UTC)
Yes, America does use M, D, Y. for anything that's American and such. That should be given to the actors and characters who we're born in America. As the template for it, I don't know. BattleshipMan (talk) 04:06, December 21, 2013 (UTC)

24 Indian charactersEdit

  • Hey, I don't know if the person who edited the "Indian Teri" gal as being killed by "Indian Nina" actually saw it or not but how do you know if it's wrong?--Gunman6 (talk) 07:25, December 27, 2013 (UTC)
    • I read the synopsis. Nina isn't even a mole in the new version, certainly doesn't shoot the wife. --Pyramidhead (talk) 17:26, December 27, 2013 (UTC)

Russian operatives Edit

Sorry, forgot to mention it in my edit summaries but there has been a more recent discussion on the categorisation of those russian spooks, here, where it was decided they should go in terrorists--Acer4666 (talk) 17:34, December 27, 2013 (UTC)

Oh, sorry. Thanks! --Pyramidhead (talk) 17:35, December 27, 2013 (UTC)

2 things Edit

Hey Pyramidhead, I had a couple of questions to ask:

  • I noticed in an edit summary you said you're able to search through the subtitles of all the episodes. Do you have these in a text file somewhere? Often when I've downloaded subtitles they're full of spelling mistakes, or words are split across several lines so searching for terms is a bit useless. Do you have a better copy of subtitles? Would you be willing to share it? :P
  • Also I wondered if you could help with some of the images in Category:Images (flags) - I'm trying to write on all their descriptions which episode the flag was featured in to justify having the image on the wiki. Can you remember where some of the flags were seen on the show?

Also, huge congrats on getting to 20,000 edits! Wow!--Acer4666 (talk) 14:19, January 4, 2014 (UTC)

Wow, didn't even notice! I got all the subtitles off this great site. I used Notepad++ to search them all at once, but you can probably use most text editors for the same. About the flags, I think most of them came from the last two of Season 8, but I'll try to verify sometime soon. --Pyramidhead (talk) 21:40, January 4, 2014 (UTC)
Ah cool, yeah I think I've used that site before. I had a bad experience I think, the first time I used it was to locate the convo in Season 7 about Christopher Henderson, after downloading and searching through like every episode I realised they'd called him "Christopher Anderson". Haha
I think I've got all the country flags now, the only one left is the Flag of California. Do you remember where that one came from?--Acer4666 (talk) 00:04, January 5, 2014 (UTC)
There's a few places. There's a guy on the screen during Palmer's meeting in "Day 3: 7:00am-8:00am" who's sitting by the California flag. I think it's also at the rally in "Day 1: 7:00am-8:00am" and (possibly?) one of the flags that Jack looks at in "Day 5: 6:00pm-7:00pm." --Pyramidhead (talk) 01:28, January 5, 2014 (UTC)
Awesome, thanks--Acer4666 (talk) 01:41, January 5, 2014 (UTC)

Ultimate guide Edit

Before you do too much stuff sourced from The Ultimate Guide, we currently don't class it as a canon source of in-universe information. What has changed?--Acer4666 (talk) 03:39, January 29, 2014 (UTC)

I don't know if you have access to it, but the whole book is written from an in-universe perspective. There are yellow inserts throughout that expand on certain concepts (presidential assassinations, Air Force One, etc.) and basically treat what's happened in the show as part of U.S. history. It's similar to the Research Files, except that it explicitly treats the show content and the background info as part and parcel. There's also a ton of detail on the equipment used at CTU which lines up with the props used in the show. I thought it was fair game for inclusion - I don't think there's anything that contradicts it being "canon," though there are some gray areas that I would hesitate to trust - for instance, Audrey and Richard are apparently step-siblings. I wasn't aware there had been a discussion; I'm really sorry if I've just made a big mess! --Pyramidhead (talk) 03:52, January 29, 2014 (UTC)
Actually, now that I think about it, if we're treating the CTU Operations Manual as canon then there's no reason this shouldn't also be, in my opinion. It's the same concept, just expanded to other areas. --Pyramidhead (talk) 04:01, January 29, 2014 (UTC)
I see...I don't have a copy of it myself, no! I asked about the ultimate guide here and Proudhug said that it was out-of-universe - does it not have episode guides in it? And Proudhug said it listed filming location information for the first season. I'll ask him if he's still around...
The Research Files are a similar situation I guess, they're not included in canon because every now and then they will say "Beroglide is a fictional drug..." or something--Acer4666 (talk) 10:18, January 29, 2014 (UTC)
There are episode guides but they're written like somebody describing what actually happened from 6:00am to 12:00pm or whatever. Actually there are some scans here if you want to get an idea of what it's like. It's only out-of-universe to the extent that it uses "Day 1", "Day 2", and so on, but the CTU Operations Manual does that as well. --Pyramidhead (talk) 18:41, January 29, 2014 (UTC)
I see...not really sure on this. Proudhug said it gave filming location information for the pilot episode? I'd like to wait a bit to see if he responds to the query on his page, and I'll try to get hold of a copy of the book--Acer4666 (talk) 21:42, January 30, 2014 (UTC)
That's not correct - it's strictly about the world of the show; there's no production info as far as I can tell. Could be he was thinking of the official companion? --Pyramidhead (talk) 21:43, January 30, 2014 (UTC)
Maybe...he said it here--Acer4666 (talk) 21:46, January 30, 2014 (UTC)

nth day of filming Edit

Separate topic...I think it's overkill to list "nth day of filming" on all the date pages. We haven't done this for any of the other seasons, and if we did it would really clutter up and make those pages confusing--Acer4666 (talk) 21:46, January 30, 2014 (UTC)

True, but up until now it wasn't really possible to document filming with any degree of accuracy. I think it at least should stay on the 2014 productions page, but I could take or leave putting it on the OTD templates. Maybe once the episodes start airing we can match up scenes with the various twitpics and only include ones that are notable? --Pyramidhead (talk) 21:55, January 30, 2014 (UTC)
Incidentally, here's what your average date looks like for Star Trek productions: [1] To be sure, they have a lot more dates to keep track of, but I don't think it's terribly confusing or cluttered. Being more comprehensive is only a good thing, IMO. --Pyramidhead (talk) 21:58, January 30, 2014 (UTC)
Hmm, I guess it's not too bad actually looking at the Memory Alpha one. As for the other seasons, I think I have a fair few dates for S7 and S8 filming from Dunno what day of filming it was, but could match up some scenes--Acer4666 (talk) 22:18, January 30, 2014 (UTC)

Spoiler apology.Edit

My apologies on the James Heller appearance spoiler. I saw it in other articles and thought it'd be okay. The Wiki looks great, though. I can't wait for Jack Bauer's return. Roger Murtaugh (talk) 06:42, January 31, 2014 (UTC)

No worries! It's really not that big a deal; I'd just rather not do anything on the character/location pages until the season gets rolling. --Pyramidhead (talk) 06:49, January 31, 2014 (UTC)
Understandable. Thank you. Roger Murtaugh (talk) 12:36, March 3, 2014 (UTC)

I'm curious how the icons templates work. I have tried on various other Wikis to get them to appear at the tops of articles, but, to no avail. I'm not quite sure how to make them show up. Do you have any advice? Thank you. Roger Murtaugh (talk) 12:36, March 3, 2014 (UTC)

Wikia 24 Programming Edit

Hey, Pyramidhead! I work in Marketing for Wikia -- focusing on highlighting the cool things our communities are doing around anticipated high-profile Entertainment properties. I was wondering if you might be interested in being a part of some upcoming 24-related programming that we may have in the pipeline. You can drop me a line on my message wall or by email at Thanks for your great work on the 24 community.

Rollback Edit

Hey, just concerning your last edit, this is just a quick reminder of rollback policy about only using the tool for obvious vandalism and not potentially good-faith edits such as correcting american english to british. Thanks!--Acer4666 (talk) 23:51, April 19, 2014 (UTC)

Apologies. Just goes a little quicker than undo --Pyramidhead (talk) 00:07, April 20, 2014 (UTC)

One name underground characters Edit

Hey, just before we go and fully change people like Reese, Anton, etc. to have dab tags and update all the links, I was wondering if it might be prudent to hold off until all of Underground has been published? They probably won't, but just in case these characters get given last names it will save a lot of undoing. What do you think?--Acer4666 (talk) 18:06, April 23, 2014 (UTC)

Hm, hadn't thought of that... my initial thought was that it doesn't seem likely the characters concerned will get last names, but who knows. If that does happen for (some of) them, I'll do the renaming; think I'll just need an admin to move the original characters back to where they were. --Pyramidhead (talk) 18:11, April 23, 2014 (UTC)
If you'd rather do that now - e.g. put Reese (Day 7) back to Reese - that's totally cool. I'd be fine with waiting for the rest of the issues --Pyramidhead (talk) 18:11, April 23, 2014 (UTC)
I think how it is now is OK - the redirect points to the Day 7 Reese, so no links are broken, and the dab note points to the other one. Once we know for sure, we can make a dab page and link it round properly--Acer4666 (talk) 20:54, April 23, 2014 (UTC)

I'll try to follow the guidelines for character page edits next time. I'm really not used to past tense being used for characters who are still alive in a current season. I love editing Wikias, but to me it's like going to another country, you have to get used to the rules there so I'm sorry for messing up.

HorrorFan01 (talk) 21:09, May 6, 2014 (UTC)

No problem at all my friend! Keep up the good work! :) --Pyramidhead (talk) 21:10, May 6, 2014 (UTC)

One more thing, you said that you guys were referring to LAD as Day 9 on Wikia articles. Last night, when I added a Day 9 section to Jack Bauer's knock outs, someone edited behind me and removed it, saying that it was Live Another Day and not Day 9 so I got a little confused by that.

HorrorFan01 (talk) 21:32, May 6, 2014 (UTC)

No worries. Since it's been called "Day 9" in a bunch of places, we decided to use that for in-universe pages - it's in keeping with "Day 1", "Day 2", etc. and a lot less cumbersome than Live Another Day. However, for now we are using LAD when talking about the actual show, instead of "Season 9." --Pyramidhead (talk) 21:41, May 6, 2014 (UTC)

Should we change the Live Another Day actors category to Day 9 actors or leave it the same?

HorrorFan01 (talk) 23:20, May 6, 2014 (UTC)

I think leave it the same - "Day 9" is the name for the timespan that we're watching, but the series itself is still called Live Another Day. The same way the other categories are Season 1 actors, Season 2 actors, etc. rather than Day X actors. --Pyramidhead (talk) 23:22, May 6, 2014 (UTC)

Okay, thanks so much for helping me out with the rules today. I'm starting to get the hang of it now.

HorrorFan01 (talk) 23:27, May 6, 2014 (UTC)

Sorry if I'm writing things to literal. User:Acer4666 at the other understands me many times when I'm writing too literal. I mean she became pregnant from a son...not that her son was making her pregnant. LOL :) --Station7 (talk) 22:14, May 6, 2014 (UTC)

Ha! --Pyramidhead (talk) 22:16, May 6, 2014 (UTC)

Thank you!!Edit

Thank you for those changes to the new actor template! I was about to ask one of you where was that supposed to be changed :-D Thief12 (talk) 02:10, May 10, 2014 (UTC)

Main characters on Live Another Days Edit

Hey, Pyramidhead. Do you think we should focus on expanding the backstory and biography of the main characters on 24:LAD? BattleshipMan (talk) 03:03, May 10, 2014 (UTC)

Previously on 24: LADEdit

Hey! I'm curious, where did you get the Previously on 24 segments for LAD? Were they from iTunes? Can you check to see if Michael Wincott is credited for episode one in the split versions of the episodes? I don't think he was truly credited for episode one, it was just because they had both episodes airing back to back. --Alexisfan07 (talk) 14:30, May 13, 2014 (UTC)

Vandal problemEdit

Somebody vandalized the article James Heller. I had to revert it. So you need to block that vandal. 03:48, May 14, 2014 (UTC)

Thanks! If I were an admin I would. Next time let Acer4666 know. --Pyramidhead (talk) 03:59, May 14, 2014 (UTC)
Sure thing. 04:01, May 14, 2014 (UTC)
Pyramidhead you are one of the most prolific and trusted editors here, and have been for a long time. Do you have an interest in being an admin? If so, please trust that the only reason I had not nominated you myself was because for a time, you had been reorganizing the headers without much discussion. Those days are long past, with you being one of the most communicative now, and this particular discussion is still active. So, how about a little logrolling? Logrolling is generally associated with dishonest politicians, but the principle of supporting people you trust for potential future help existed long before even human language. Check out my latest proposal for that topic over on the forum, see if it is digestible for you, and if you can commit to it for good, I'll nominate you myself that same minute. Everyone wins! Names Edit

Hey Pyramidhead, can you make out the name of the marine who placed the charge on the door? My best shot is "Goodwill" but not very sure. Also, where did the name "Arthur" come from? Thanks. --William (talk) 10:14, May 20, 2014 (UTC)

Never mind, it's Goodall. A seperate one, now we have three Osbornes, so we go for Osborne (Lower Heyford), Osborne (Afghanistan) and Osborne (marine)? (The prop team really have done sloppy work) --William (talk) 13:22, May 20, 2014 (UTC)

Hide button appearances sectionEdit

How do you use the hide button on the appearances section. I'm making one for my Wiki too, so how do you do that? --Station7 (talk) 08:30, June 1, 2014 (UTC)

Just a request, but when you have the time, could upload some Jack Bauer kills from Day 9: 4:00pm-5:00pm? I would love to see them on the site. ;) --Station7 (talk) 22:33, June 4, 2014 (UTC)

Kim Raver and Alicia?Edit

How did you found out that Kim Raver played Alicia during Day 9: 6:00pm-7:00pm? --Station7 (talk) 09:29, June 17, 2014 (UTC)

Er, look at her! --Pyramidhead (talk) 17:34, June 17, 2014 (UTC)
No, I don't see what you see. Unless you have a picture in which you can compare them. But now I would see, no. --Station7 (talk) 18:06, June 17, 2014 (UTC)

Drone strike victims Edit

Hi, how did you arrive at the number 200? It seems random. OneWeirdDude (talk) 23:41, July 7, 2014 (UTC)

Margot says "hundreds" died today. Since there's no other source we have to go with that for now, though I'm not sure it sits well with me - she could possibly be rounding up, and it might be somewhere between 100-200. Weigh in if you like! --Pyramidhead (talk) 23:43, July 7, 2014 (UTC)
Well, I'd prefer to make it 100, as per a grammar page I found. (Or, in a book I read once, "Millions have wept." "Make that a million and one!") OneWeirdDude (talk) 23:54, July 7, 2014 (UTC)

Fancy table Edit

Hey Pyramidhead, was wondering if you were seeing the same thing I am (I've had some other display issues that seem to be unique to me recently). On User:Acer4666/Phones on 24 and User:Acer4666/Computers on 24 I've been using the same format as the weapons on 24 pages, with the "fancy" class of table. However recently when adding new tables, they seem to be screwing up whatever is below them - ie, h2 headers are not appearing, bullet points are appearing at the end of words, huge gaps of space are appearing. Do those pages have all their h2 headers to you, or are you seeing the same as me? It's weird because this only seems to become an issue after editing and adding new tables - it's not like there's been a Wikia-wide css change that has instantly screwed up the appearance, it's only affecting new ones added recently? Weeeeeeird if you ask me!--Acer4666 (talk) 18:54, July 8, 2014 (UTC)

That does sound odd. Can you grab a screenshot? --Pyramidhead (talk) 18:57, July 8, 2014 (UTC)
Actually, I think I see what you mean. But it looks like you just need to take out "float:left;" on those tables. That fixes the bullet lists, at least. --Pyramidhead (talk) 19:09, July 8, 2014 (UTC)
Ah, I see, thanks. Do you see the missing headers? A screenshot here, where the scond header "cell phones" is not showing up (despite being in the TOC). This doesn't happen on the weapons page, wasn't happening on those pages earlier, and I copied the code exactly from the weapons page--Acer4666 (talk) 19:15, July 8, 2014 (UTC)
Seems like removing the "float:left" fixed it for me. Weird that this has never been a problem before, and is not a problem retroactively for tables we already have--Acer4666 (talk) 19:20, July 8, 2014 (UTC)
Weird! Well, glad to be of help --Pyramidhead (talk) 19:39, July 8, 2014 (UTC)

Change the picture of Cheng's death. Edit

I think you better change the picture of Cheng's death. The beheading scene pic will probably disturb many viewers. BattleshipMan (talk) 04:26, July 16, 2014 (UTC)

To my knowledge, there isn't an official policy regarding objectionable content. My feeling is that the wiki has license to be just as graphic athe show it covers. Besides, anyone who clicks over to the page listing people Jack killed probably knows what to expect. --Pyramidhead (talk) 04:31, July 16, 2014 (UTC)

Cheng's thug killed by Jack? Edit

Hey Pyramidhead, I'm just wondering about the guy killed by Jack here sniped out on the Letitcia before Jack entered. You listed that it was Jonathan Chan-Pensley's character - is he seen other than in the one shot of him getting killed? Are there other shots earlier in the episode? Just wondering what made you sure it was the same character--Acer4666 (talk) 00:12, July 23, 2014 (UTC)

It was actually somebody else who first made the connection, and the gun and clothes looked pretty similar. I don't remember seeing the thug anywhere else, but looking at it now I'm not too sure the face and hairstyle match. --Pyramidhead (talk) 20:52, July 24, 2014 (UTC)
Ah ok. I just ask because the coat is different to the one Chan-Pensley is wearing in his picture - his is like a normal black coat whereas the shot dude is wearing a "puffer-jacket" style one (like with horizontal stripes). I'm also not too sure on the face being the same and think all the guys taken out on the docks were stunt guys rather than actors--Acer4666 (talk) 21:25, July 24, 2014 (UTC)

Discrepancies in Drazen brothers pages Edit

Hello, I want to point out (or at least get someone to explain it to me) this situation. Trying to make sense of this.

The pages of Alexis and Andre Drazen show both were born in 1967 (I don't doubt that) but within 5 months apart? What's the deal with that? The pages state Andre is the older brother.

I don't know what to think about it but nailed it to 3 possibilities:

1) The error comes from who wrote the pages of the characters

2) The error comes from the show (writers)

3) Falsification info (coming from the show considering who Alexis was)

Either: Alexis was born in January of 1967 & Andre in June of 1966 or both were born in 1967 but Alexis in/near the end of the year and used (as a falsification) his brother's birthday.

I really hope someone can explain this to me b/c I want to understand it since I'm going to rewatch the show soon.

Marina.iosa (talk) 00:35, July 26, 2014 (UTC) Never mind, got the explanation I was looking for from the admin

Upcoming cleanup of Special:UnusedFiles Edit

In just about a week—on May 15 (Friday)—I'll be cleaning out Special:UnusedFiles by erasing the abandoned images lurking there. Not because of any qualms with their quality or doubts about their usefulness, but because the image policy was constructed to ensure that images either be linked expediently after uploading, or be erased within 24 hours if abandoned. I'm writing here (and on about a dozen other editors' talk pages) because at least 1 of the images found there was uploaded by you. This is not some sort of attempt to rush you to find a home for your image in episode guides or character articles over the next few days. On the contrary, if you're not sure of a good spot for your unused image(s), or any image for that matter found in Special:UnusedFiles, feel free to simply add your selections to a user sub-page where you can preserve them at your leisure (which I've done myself, here). Script source? Edit

Hey Pyramidhead! I hope you are well - and that you can find the time to pop back to this wiki occasionally - you're sorely missed! I had a quick question about something you added if you are still around - specifically this edit where you added that a script gave the location of Heller's beach house. Which script was this? Do you recall where this info came from? Thanks!--Acer4666 (talk) 21:30, December 20, 2015 (UTC)

Haha, I wondered if this news would lure you back :P great to see you again!--Acer4666 (talk) 23:11, January 15, 2016 (UTC)
Likewise! :) I actually went on a really long vacation right after last season ended, and then just never got around to dropping by again. Plus I was getting waaay too invested in trivial arguments so it just seemed wise to take a break. Always fun to be around through the pre-season. Not too sure about Legacy yet but it certainly can't hurt to give it a shot!
To answer your question, I found the house location in one of the 24 reference books - think it was the Season 6 companion? I'll double check. --Pyramidhead (talk) 23:46, January 15, 2016 (UTC)
Pyramidhead it's clutch as hell that you're back! (Hope you stick around, and hey I'm sorry if I was involved in any of the arguments that helped chased you off.) Blue Rook  talk  contribs 23:56, January 15, 2016 (UTC)
Not at all - the fault was mine, if anyone's. Glad you're still around! --Pyramidhead (talk) 23:59, January 15, 2016 (UTC)
Welcome back, Pyramidhead. BattleshipMan (talk) 00:29, January 16, 2016 (UTC)
Ah cool! I changed the Pacific Palisades reference to remove it, and if it's from a script/the season 6 companion, I guess that would oou info right?
Also just a quick thing, on Forum:Season_X/DayX_and_actor_categs we agreed a consistent style of not doing [[Season 8|Day 8]] as there's no reason not to use the redirects!Cheers--Acer4666 (talk) 11:49, January 16, 2016 (UTC)

Quick notes Edit

Hey Pyramidhead, this is more just to catalogue this somewhere haha, but just to let you know, when I was trying to fill out some of the pages on the Template:Greater Los Angeles, I removed a couple of things that you had added as I couldn't find the source - one was San Bernardino County, and the other was Manhattan Beach. Couldn't find reference in any maps or on the "appearances" lists on the novels pages, but you may have had some source that I completely missed! I dunno if you had been cataloguing any of this offline somewhere but just to let you know I removed them and feel free to put them back if you know the source. Cheers--Acer4666 (talk) 00:26, January 19, 2016 (UTC)

No worries - San Bernardino County I believe was in a book somewhere, and Manhattan Beach was on a map in Season 5 - somewhere around the midseason? Been a long time, but I had a text file where I added new canon names/places as I went so I'll look through that. Anyway, both pretty low priority as IU articles go so I'll get to it when I get to it. --Pyramidhead (talk) 00:29, January 19, 2016 (UTC)
Ah fantastic - you always have an amazing memory for these things! I'm slowly working through season 5 atm so I'll keep an eye out for that map--Acer4666 (talk) 00:34, January 19, 2016 (UTC)

Re: Legacy Edit

You are so fast with the updates! I think you grabbed the image from twitter/youtube even before I was able to watch the clip lol. Thank you for updating, you are awesome! --Inthernar (talk) 02:35, May 17, 2016 (UTC)

Haha, you're welcome! Very excited to see the premiere! (Hope they clean up that ADR, though... :D)--Pyramidhead (talk) 02:39, May 17, 2016 (UTC)
Yeah.. that was NOT Dylan Ramsey's voice... made me laugh. They will.......--Inthernar (talk) 02:42, May 17, 2016 (UTC)
While you're here, any chance you might know the names of the other actors in that particular scene? No worries if not, just would be great to have at this stage! --Pyramidhead (talk) 02:52, May 17, 2016 (UTC)
IMDB honestly has the official list of every actor that FOX has vetted and approved for release at this time. I can't go against that. I hope you understand.--Inthernar (talk) 02:56, May 17, 2016 (UTC)
Of course. Cheers mate! :) --Pyramidhead (talk) 03:00, May 17, 2016 (UTC)

Saugus detention center Edit

Hey Pyramidhead, a while ago you changed the title of the article 21911 Kipling Avenue to "Saugus detention center", but I just realised you also added the "conjectural titles" category to it. Conjectural titles are just for articles that otherwise wouldn't have a name, so should not take precedence over the address given in the episode. Additionally, locations should only have conjectural titles if they appear in at least 3 episodes. I notice that at some point in Findings at CTU Tony Almeida does say he gets schematics for the "Saugus detention center" but the context indicates he means "the detention center that is in Saugus" rather than suggesting that is its official name. Can you argue the case to keep this name rather than change it back tot he street address? Thanks!!--Acer4666 (talk) 22:36, July 11, 2016 (UTC)

I think the current title, even if it doesn't satisfy the episode requirement, is far more germane and informative than the street address. 21911 Kipling is a tract of land that contains both the wildlife preserve and the prison, and I don't think it is specific enough to the subject of the article. Unless you want to count the power transformer in 1x19 as an appearance, I suppose it technically doesn't pass the standard - but if ever there was to be an exception I strongly feel it should be this one. With the book information it's in a unique position - maybe the rule should be amended to at least three appearances or mentions? I could go either way on the line of dialogue you mentioned but I think it is sufficient to establish an IU name for the place. --Pyramidhead (talk) 07:20, July 12, 2016 (UTC)
I guess the street address doesn't precisely describe the actual prison facility (hence why it took Jack and George half an hour to find it even with the address) so I take your point about that being an insufficient article title. At this point, I think it makes most sense to take Tony's reference to it as the name of the building, rather than to make a policy exception. So we'll keep the article title as is, but remove the conjectural titles category. Does that sound reasonable?
There have been some cases cropping up though, of people asking the criteria for unnamed locations to be reduced to 2 episodes. I'm unsure at the moment of what sort of dodgy cases that might allow, but there are some that an argument could be made for (for example the prison Kim gets taken to by Sam Krugman has around 12 minutes of screen time, more than some of the 3-episode conjectural titled locations)--Acer4666 (talk) 08:06, July 12, 2016 (UTC)

Uncategorized 24 (Indian TV series) season pages Edit

The articles 24 (Indian TV series)/Season 1 cast and 24 (Indian TV series)/Season 2 cast are not categorized. Add them before you forget. BattleshipMan (talk) 14:27, July 31, 2016 (UTC)

Battleshipman, can you please try to be civil and polite when asking others to do things on this wiki. You've been told this so many times before - a simple "please" or "thank you" when making requests of others makes this a much nicer and friendlier community for people to foster development of the site, and won't seem like you're ordering others around.--Acer4666 (talk) 17:16, July 31, 2016 (UTC)

Ruger P94 Edit

Hey Pyramidhead, I've just been making some of the in-universe gun pages and had a couple of questions about some links you put in place: Firstly, you put a link to Walther PPK, but I only see reference to a Walther PBK in Trojan Horse. Is there another reference to the correct name somewhere? If not we'll probably have to stick to the incorrect name. Secondly, I was trying to find the reference to the "Ruger P94". I see multiple references to a Ruger pistol in Deadline, but no mention of P94 - is this somewhere else? Thanks!--Acer4666 (talk) 17:20, August 12, 2016 (UTC)

I'm also looking out for "Remington 700", if you recall the source of that? Cheers!--Acer4666 (talk) 23:05, August 12, 2016 (UTC)
