[edit] Categs

I'd like to thank you for your great work recently with the image categories. Those edits demonstrate an excellent familiarity with our categ structure here, all the way down to the nitty gritty stuff like what each category should contain given precedent. Nice work Wtl7. I second Blue Rook's comment. This is some truly amazing dedication. --Proudhug 01:38, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
I'd also like the echo these guy's comments and say what a fantastic job you are doing with the images. It's great to see a new contributor come in and do incredible work like this! --SignorSimon (talk/contribs/email) 20:20, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

Thanks... I hope I didn't make a mess of anything other than the recent changes page. :p

I created all the character image categories that were listed on Special:WantedCategories and categorized about 300 images, but I have a question: is there any rule of thumb for who gets an image category and who doesn't? There are lots of characters who could have their own image categories, but most of them are minor characters like Sunny Macer, for example. A category with only one or two images probably isn't very useful, so making them might be more trouble than it's worth. =\

Good question... I don't believe there is any policy or unwritten rules about that. However, I'd like to recommend that we consider image categories for characters who 1) have more than one episode appearance, 2) are relatively significant to the plot, and 3) are reasonably likely to have at least three, preferably 4 images taken from different scenes, if they don't already qualify. Perhaps others will weigh in and we can bang out a policy?
More than half of the Season 3 episode guides are image-less and could use a handful of pics, so your example about Sunny Macer, with 2 pics so far, should eventually get a couple more. But there may be others that don't really warrant a category, and people will spot them and nominate for deletion over time. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 02:22, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
Those rules of thumb sound reasonable to me, Rook. --Proudhug 02:26, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
Once I finish the guide for Trinity, I plan to go through and upload the pics for Season 3, so there will be some more then. The rules sound good to me. --SignorSimon (talk/contribs/email) 07:37, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

Well, hello, and Welcome to Wiki 24! I'm not sure how you noticed that we were struggling to reverse that numbered list, but you sure figured it out. Thanks a ton for that! Happy editing, and drop any questions you might have right here. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 21:14, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

Hi; no problem. I saw Talk:24_in_24 on the Recent Changes page and thought there must be some way to fix that... Wtl7 21:56, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
