Varun was an ATU field agent during Day 1.
Varun was part of the ATU backup unit that was dispatched by helicopter to Yakub Syed's compound in National Park. They landed at around 12:50pm, and the team leader Gandhi identified Trisha and Kiran Rathod hiding in the trees. He ordered Kiran to drop her weapon and then found out that Jai Singh Rathod had gone after Yakub, so ordered Varun and Rehman to locate Jai.
One of Varun or Rehman stands guard
They went into the forest and found Jai just as he shot and killed Yakub. They then led him back to the helicopter where he reunited with his family. After the Rathods and Gandhi got into the helicopter, Varun and the other field agents stood guard as they were evacuated from the area. ("12:00pm-1:00pm")
