Vietnam was a country on the coast of East Asia by the Pacific Ocean. It shared a border with China.

Vietnam was governed under communist rule - Carlos Boca told Roland Arrias that he thought Vietnam and China were models of a communist government for the future, as opposed to the "economic cesspool" that Cuba had become.

Phillip Bascomb protested the war against Vietnam, but was ironically killed by communists that invaded the USA. (Vanishing Point)
