General Walsh was a United States Air Force general at an air defence operations military base during Day 6. He worked with CTU to find the nuclear Aerial drone launched by the terrorist Dmitri Gredenko.

Shortly after 7pm EST, Walsh was contacted by CTU Los Angeles. He learned that a nuclear drone was launched and he sent out F-16s to destroy it. CTU was unaware of the drone's destination and analyst Morris O'Brian lost visual on the drone. General Walsh told Morris that he needed to find it, as the F-16s required the drone's coordinates in order to destroy it.

CTU could not find the drone in time to have them destroyed, but Jack Bauer was able to control the drone and have it crash land in an industrial park, before it could detonate over San Francisco. Radioactive waves were released from the damaged suitcase nuke, though the casualty estimate was primarily low.
